What are the elements of a narrative essay? Why do people write narrative essays?
· Tells a story.
· Use first person
· You can share a moment in your life
· Use details
· Background information
· Can use dialogue
· Narratives are usually written from perspective of the writer him/herself, but don’t have to be
· Since it is telling a story it should have everything a story should have, a plot, climax, setting, character development, and an ending
· Concrete details!!!! Specific detail!!!!
· Build your essay around a main idea
· Important to remember that you are writing an ESSAY that is telling a story, so don’t just tell a story.
· Writers write Narrative essays to tell a story. Some writers write them to reflect on a moment in their lives.
